Setting Up Multifactor Authentication in Xacte

Updated over 4 months ago

When your first login to Xacte or after a reset of the setting by our team, you will be prompted to set up multifactor authentication for your account.

You can then choose between those two authentication methods : use an authentication app or receive security codes by email.

After selecting one of these options, you will be asked to enter your password :

You will then have 10 minutes to complete the setup of your two-factor authentication following the procedures described below.

OPTION 1 : Authentication App

Using your smartphone, if you do not already have one of them, download one of

the following apps :

Google Authenticator :

Microsoft Authenticator :

Both these apps are free. You can ensure you have the recommended app by following the download links above. If the app you downloaded requires a subscription or charges any fees, it is not one that Xacte recommends.

Web version of Xacte

On our Web platform, after selecting the “Authentication Application” option, you

should see a QR code appear on your screen :

Open the authentication app you downloaded on your phone, then scan the QR

code using the app’s scanning feature (see the video tutorials if needed). The app

should start generating 6-digit authentication codes every 30 seconds. These

codes are only valid during the 30-second window in which they are displayed on

your app. Enter the current code in the “One-time code” field in Xacte to access

your account.

From the mobile version of Xacte or if you can't scan the QR code

If you are unable to scan the QR code or if you are setting up two-factor

authentication from the mobile version of Xacte, you can use the option “Can’t

read the QR code?” found right under the code. This will generate an authentication

key that will allow you to complete the setup in your authentication app.

OPTION 2 : Email

After selecting the “Email” option, enter the email address where you want to

receive your security codes, then click on “Continue”:

You will receive an email from [email protected] containing your security code.

You have 5 minutes from the receipt of this email to enter the code in the “One-time

code” field before it expires:

If you do not receive any email at the address you entered, please make sure you

typed your email correctly and check your spam folder if necessary.
